Sheldon Suter's solo project "Berceuses et Nocturnes" is one of those contemporary phenomena that defies any attempt to categorize it into a specific musical genre.
From his treasure trove of sounds developed over decades, Sheldon Suter creates dreamy soundscapes that unobtrusively seduce us and never let go.
Influenced by Indonesian gamelan and Erik Satie's chimerical piano pieces, but also by Steve Reich's minimalism and Morton Feldmann's universe, Sheldon Suter sustains the thin, multi-layered meditations of "Berceuses et Nocturnes" without recourse to loop machines, immersing us in a hallucinatory night world animated by hypnagogic serenades and starlit reveries.
